The Bemidji City Council, acting as the Bemidji Economic Development Authority, last night approved the sale of land on the south shore of Lake Bemidji to Grand Forks based Northridge Construction, Inc.

The sale is the latest step in the city's overall south shore development plan. Northridge bought the 2.69-acre lot that lies west of the Sanford Center for just over $350,000 and will develop a new apartment complex there.

Ryan Carlson, vice president of Northridge, says, "it's a multi-family development, an uperscale apartment complex that will be in development for the next couple of months with a planned groundbreaking in the spring of 2014."
