Governor Mark Dayton announced today that schools across the state will be canceled on Monday. The National weather service is forecasting the coldest temperatures in a decade across the state, prompting the governor to make the call.

The governor's statement says that he made the decision today in order to "give school administrators, teachers and parents sufficient time to plan for these closure."

Low temps for Sunday night across Northern Minnesota are forecasted to be between 30 and 40 below zero.
